Spellings

Due to Bike Ability, this week's timetable looks a little different. However, we will continue to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum. 

 

English: As we have come to the end of our shared, sentence stacking lessons based on 'Flood', this week's English lessons will focus on building up towards pupils writing an independent piece. Instead of a flood, the children will be writing about a different natural disaster - a volcanic eruption. We will gather vocabulary together and then each child will plan their story. 

 

Maths: Continuing our recap of core methods, this week we recap short division with remainders. It is imperative that the children can calculate using the 'bus stop' method efficiently. 

 

Science: Children will explore mammals: what a mammal is, individual life cycles (including reproduction) and main similarities and differences between different mammals. 

 

Design and Technology: This week, the children will investigate bridges/ structures further by experimenting and testing different materials with the aim of building their own bridge. They will closely study possible shapes, materials and joints. This information will inform pupils' decisions when designing their bridge. 

 

PSHE: Rights and Responsibilities - Spending Wisely (money). 

 

Computing: Scratch Programming. 

 

PE: Wednesdays with Mr Wheeler; Fridays with Mrs Machin. 

 

RE and Spanish delivered by Miss Wheeler. 

Top
