English

In English we are continuing our writing. We are writing the following plot point  - The Pharaoh looks at the slippers and declares he will marry whoever they belong to. He searches for their owner and finally arrives at Rhodopis's village. The servant girls recognise them but do not tell him about Rhodopis.

Below is the vocabulary sheet - remember to collect the vocabulary before you write your sentences.

Collect vocabulary for what the Pharaoh is thinking and what is he doing, look at the following picture.

My model writing:

The Pharaoh stared down at the golden slipper and believed it was a sign from the God Horas. He declared that he would find whoever owned the slipper and make her his wife.

Now write yours.

Look at the picture below. Where does the Pharaoh search? For example 'far and wide'.

My model writing:

He began his search at once. He searched far and wide and travelled to distant places. When he finally arrived at Rhodopis’s village the servant girls all rushed to the river’s edge.

Now write yours.

Look at the picture below. How are the servant girls feeling? What are they thinking? Why have they chosen not to say the slipper belongs to Rhodopis?

My model writing:

At once they recognised the golden slipper but out of spite decided not to tell the Pharaoh who it belonged to.

Now write yours.

When you have completed your sentences go back and read them. Have you written in past tense? Are your spellings correct? Make sure your writing makes sense.

I look forward to seeing your work later smiley
