Today, we will be continuing our work on the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

There are different ways that you can follow the text. If you have your own copy, you can either read it yourself or listen to somebody else read it to you. If you do not have a copy of the book then you can listen to it on the link below or turn the volume down and read it yourself on the link.

Read or listen to Chapter 3 (stop at 3 mins 52 seconds)

(parents, please check links before use)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl Chapter 3, Chapter 4 & Chapter 5

Use your plan from Monday to help you to write a character description of Charlie Bucket.

Remember to:

  • Use different sentence starters to hook your reader.
  • Use descriptive noun phrases (like you did for The Paperbag Princess)
*Noun: a person, place, thing or animal.

*Adjective: a describing word.

*Noun phrase: when we describe a noun.

  • Try to use a possessive apostrophe eg Charlie's family.

Here is a word bank that you might find useful.

Here are some sentence starters that you could use in your description. You should write your description as a continuous piece of writing and not in numbered points, this is just to give you some ideas.
