VE Celebration 1945

Look carefully at this picture and talk about what you can see. It was taken at a VE celebration in 1945. Look carefully at the background, what do you see? What do you think life was like for these children at this time?

Here are some songs that were sung during World War 2. Listen to the songs and talk about them with an adult. Do you like them? How do they make you feel? Are they like songs that you might hear today? Have a go at singing them with your family.

During World War 2, people used to go to dance halls as a way of socialising and having fun. A popular type of dance in those days was called Lindy Hop or Swing dance. Here is a tutorial that will teach you the basic dance steps. Have a go on your own or with your family. I would love to hear how you get on over on the blog.
