Hello everybody!

After seeing all of the SUPER things you have been doing on Tapestry, I thought I would choose a SUPER book to be our ‘Book of the Week.’ It is called “Supertato” by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet and I think you will really enjoy it. Superheroes look after other people, work hard, try their best and achieve amazing things, just like you do.

I am sure lots of you thought about a different type of hero on Friday when we celebrated VE Day. What a lovely celebration, even in this unusual time, to remember all of the people who fought or helped in World War 2. I have loved seeing all your photographs and videos from this occasion on Tapestry and am glad you enjoyed the challenges I set you. It is not too late to upload the things you have been up to and to let me know that you are safe and well as I love to hear from you all.

I have uploaded me reading this week's Story of the Week to Tapestry for you to enjoy, along with an extra Superhero story that I think you will really like too, all about Super Daisy. If you cannot access Tapestry yet, here is a YouTube version of the book you can share together. Again, I do not own the rights to this book, but you can buy it here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Supertato-Sue-Hendra/dp/0857074474/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3AKDTV29Y2F2C&dchild=1&keywords=supertato&qid=1589029324&sprefix=supert%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-2

Enjoy!

If you liked this book, there are lots of other books in the Supertato series, such as Supertato: Veggies Assemble! And Run, Veggies Run. You might also like these other superhero-themed books which you could buy or listen to on YouTube:

  • Super Daisy and the Peril of Planet Pea by Kes Gray and Nick Sharratt
  • Traction Man by Mini Grey
  • Superworm by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
  • Boris Saves the Show by Carrie Weston

Please find this week's activities on the next pages. There is lots to keep you busy but there is no pressure to do them all. Pick the ones which best suit your child, yourself and the resources you have. I would recommend that you attempt at least one from each section. Where it fits, these activities have been linked to ‘Supertato’
