Home Learning Activities
Welcome everybody to a new week of learning!
This week our Book of the Week is one of my favourites from when I was little and it is called ‘Peace at Last’ by Jill Murphy. The story is about a Daddy Bear who simply cannot get to sleep. My Mummy and I used to read this story so often when I was in school that we still use one of the lines from the story when we are talking to each other now, as grown-ups. If something is not going well we say “I can’t stand THIS!” in a funny voice and make each other laugh and it always makes me feel better.
Listen out for those words in the story. I wonder if you say things from story books in your house? This story opens up so many opportunities for learning and I hope you enjoy this week’s Home Learning videos and the activities planned for you to have a go at. I love hearing all about the things you get up to as part of our Home Learning and with your families. Last week I saw some lovely photographs of you off on walks, having a go at some writing and working hard on all the Farmer Duck Home Learning Tasks. The sign language activity seemed particularly popular and it was lovely to see so many of you having a go and teaching your families. Keep up the great work!
Here are a few videos you might like to watch this week from grown-ups across the whole school! Enjoy:
Don’t forget that you can now use our new Nursery email address email@example.com which is checked throughout the day if you have any questions or need any advice.
I really hope you enjoy the story of ‘Peace At Last’ as much as I did when I was little. I will post a video of me reading it to you on Tapestry and I cannot wait to see what you get up to in response to such a lovely story. Mrs Turner will also be posting lots more videos and activities to keep you busy throughout the week and I know you have loved seeing her again. Thank you Mrs Turner!

Please find this week's activities below. There is lots to keep you busy but there is no pressure to do them all. Pick the ones which best suit your child, yourself and the resources you have. I would recommend that you attempt at least one from each section. Where it fits, these activities have been linked to ‘Peace at Last.'
