Home Learning Activities

Happy Monday everybody!

I hope everyone enjoyed last week’s learning about the story ‘Peace At Last.’ I saw some really fantastic learning

photographs, videos and messages including lots of you having a go at sorting the Day and Night activities and the voice sounds from Peace At Last. It was great to see lots of pouring and measuring using the words full, half full and empty  and I loved seeing all the ways you found to practise our Word of the Week which was different.

This week I thought we would go on an adventure to a thick, dark jungle! I have chosen ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson as our ‘Book of the Week’ and have recorded the story for you to enjoy on Tapestry. I have also uploaded lots of activities and videos to help you explore this lovely story and to help you find out more about the jungle this week. Mrs Turner will also continue her fantastic videos this week. Thank you Mrs Turner.

If you like Monkey Puzzle, you might also like these stories:

Walking Through the Jungle by Julie Lacome

The Animal Boogie by Barefoot Books

Rumble In the Jungle by Giles Andreae

Day Monkey, Night Monkey by Julia Donaldson

I Don’t Want to Go to Bed by Julie Sykes

Please find this week's activities below. There is lots to keep you busy but there is no pressure to do them all. Pick the ones which best suit your child, yourself and the resources you have. I would recommend that you attempt at least one from each section. Where it fits, these activities have been linked to ‘Monkey Puzzle.'

I cannot see what you get up to. Keep your photos, videos and comments coming.

Happy exploring!

Miss B 😊

Here are some of the other Home Learning videos from across school that you may like to access. Lots of recommendations from Nursery this week in Mr T's storytime; lots of creative opportunities with Mrs Bromley and a lovely calming mindfulness activity with Miss Davies and Mrs Bakewell. Enjoy!
