Learning in Class

As part of our learning, we will be:

  • Sequencing the story
  • Exploring Alternative versions of the story e.g. Goldilocks and Just One Bear, Goldi Rocks and the Three Bears
  • Experimenting with what makes a bed comfy
  • Following instructions to make porridge
  • Writing a diary entry as Baby Bear
  • Creating rules to keep us safe
  • Playing with porridge oats, water and jugs
  • Ordering items by size

In Phonics, we will be applying our Phonics skills to a range of Goldilocks-themed problems e.g. which sentence best describes Goldilocks, which character am I describing, did this happen in the story etc.

In Maths, we will be learning how to count in 5s and 10s. We will be using this knowledge to solve problems and to explain our answers.

In PSHE, we will be focusing on the power of the phrase "Yes I Can!" We will focus on thinking positively, being ambitious and taking on ahieveable challenges in our learning and our lives.

In PE, our Olympics focus continues. This week we will be extending our running skills to include avoiding obstacles. When athletes run they may have to change direction, avoid other runners or jump over hurdles. This week's learning encourages us to decide what kind of running we need to use and which obstacles to avoid.

In RE, our focus on which stories are important to people of faith will focus on Jesus' miracles. We will be acting out some of the things that the Bible tells Christians Jesus could do. We will be thinking about what these actions tell Christians about Jesus.

We cannot wait to get this week's learning "just right!"
