# Maths

To start today complete the arithmetic below. Don't worry that you do not have a sheet, just jot your answers down. The document contains the answers too, they are on the second page.
Let's start the day with a sing and a dance.

capacity is the amount of liquid a container can hold

volume is how much liquid is in the container

Your first task today is to recap on the knowledge that you already know. Have a go at the sheets below.

## Measuring in litres and millilitre

A litre is much more than a millilitre.

1 litre = 1000 millilitres

We shorten litres to ‘l’ and we can shorten millilitres to 'ml'.

So we might also say:

1 l = 1000 ml

Watch the BBC Bitesize video below.
Today, you will focus on the capacity in either litres or millilitres and not as a mixed measurement. When you are ready, have a go at the sheets below.
When you have marked your work, have a go at our True and False Challenge.
If you would like to challenge yourself on your knowledge of measurement, here are some reasoning activities. Choose a couple to have a go at.
Other activities can be found on Mathletics and there are links to activities on Discovery education below. I look forward to seeing your work later.
