Hello again...

I hope you've been able to enjoy the sunshine over the Easter break as much as you can. What fabulous weather we've had! laugh

Once again, I'll be posting English, Maths and wider-curricular tasks every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If ever you have any questions, just ask me on our blog and I'll try to help as best I can. It's up to you how you spread your workload - one fo the benefits of home learning! Pace yourself. Time management is a key life skill. yes

A little bit of SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) to kick start your Monday and flex those brain cells.

  • Warm-up 1: Modal verbs. Follow this link:, watch the video and complete the short activity below.
  • Warm-up 2: Possessive apostrophes. Follow this link:, watch the video and complete the tasks below.
  • Warm-up 3: Spelling practise. Complete the yr5/6 spelling sheet listed under 'links to resources' at the bottom of this page.
  • Main task: Grammar Hammer. Open and complete the grammar sheet. You could do this by typing on the sheet and highlighting answers, or you can write down your answers. We did complete a few of these earlier in the year. Find the questions and answer sheet for marking afterwards under 'links to resources' at the bottom of this page. Good luck! Let me know how you get on.

This week, we will be focussing on written methods for multiplication. All work has been set through Mathletics for today, however, please see the links below for video guidance. Also, don't feel like you have to complete everything mentally. Get a pencil or pen and a piece of paper.

Short multiplication: 3/4 digit x 1 digit

Grid Method

Complete set tasks on Mathletics. If you need a multiplication square, there is one in the resources section.
