Monday
Maths
Today in maths you are going to be thinking about 2's. You will be counting in multiples of 2 and sets of 2.
Here's a song you may remember us singing in the classroom. Don't forget to get your fingers ready to push forward your twos.
Extension- Why don't you have a go at creating your own arrays?
Phonics
Follow the link below to the Rith Miskin phonics channel on YouTube. There will be a video uploaded, one sound per day (which is a recap of sounds taught) and this video will be available for 24 hours. There will also be a following spelling session for your child to test their phonics knowledge. It is important that you do both sessions.

English
Today in English you are going to be reading the poem Dad and the Cat and the Tree. I have also recorded me reading the poem to help you hear the rhythm of the poem.
Dad and the Cat and the Tree (audio only)

Your English tasks:
1. Print off the pictures and place them in the correct order of when they happen in the poem. You do not need to print off the story grid.
2. I want you to retell the poem to someone in your house.
3.I want you to think about what might happen next. How will Dad get out of the tree? Will someone have to go up and rescue him? Just like he had to go up and rescue the cat. I want you to draw what you think will happen and then write some sentences about what you think.
Your sentences must include:
capital letters
full stops
phonics for spellings
conjunctions - more than 1 (and, but, because)
You can then have a go at the Fun-Time Extras on the sheet if you want to.
Staying Safe
Our topic for this week is staying safe. As the weather is beginning to change and the sun is starting to shine more, I thought it would be good time to look at sun safety.
To show you how important sun cream is as well as wearing a hat and a t-shirt, have a go at the artwork activities below.
Sun cream Art
For this activity you will need:
-sun cream
- coloured piece of paper
Optional:
-paintbrush
-stamps
Today you are going to be creating sun cream art.
1.Completely cover the palm of you hand with a thick layer of sun cream.
2.Then you need to place your hand palm down onto the piece of paper.
3.Place the piece of paper in sunlight (outside is better).
4.After 30 minutes or longer come back to your piece of paper and carefully wipe off any left over sun cream.
You can repeat the process using a paintbrush to draw paintings using the sun cream or stamps to create a piece of artwork.
Do you notice any difference between the parts of the paper that were covered in sun cream and the parts not covered by sun cream?
You should see that the parts of the paper that were covered are darker because they were not bleached by the sun. Those parts were protected from the sun's rays. This is why it is very important that you wear sun cream.
