Story and Rhyme Time

Story and Rhyme Time

Books, stories and rhymes form a really integral part of the learning experience at Cookley, and are an integral part of our day. They open up worlds of new language, experiences, vocabulary, imagination, communication and opportunity. We read a lot of stories, sing a lot of songs and make up our own songs and rhymes all the time. Below, you can get to know our staff even better by enjoying some stories and rhymes with the Early Years grown-ups:

Miss Allardice reads 'Augustus and His Smile'

We cannot wait to see your smiling faces in September!

Miss Bagnall reads 'Some Dogs Do'

We hope you enjoy this story and that you too can fly when you come to school!

Mrs Giles reads 'Little One's Bedtime'

Getting enough sleep will really help you to be ready and raring to go when you come to school.

Mrs Painter reads 'The Snail and the Whale'

This book is about an exciting adventure. We cannot wait to be part of your adventure when you come to Cookley in September!

Mrs Roath reads 'Chocolate Mousse for Greedy Goose'

We LOVE rhyming words in Nursery and Reception as they help us to develop our speaking and our reading skills. Can you listen out for the rather funny rhymes?

Learn our Early Years 'Super Learners' Song with Miss Bagnall

In our Nursery and Reception we develop our learning skills by working hard to be 'explorers,' 'triers' and 'thinkers.' We start every day with this song.

Bear-themed Songs with Miss Bagnall

Here are some songs to learn to help get you excited for our first learning theme in September... Bears!
