Today in Art we are going to have a look at weaving. This link will tell you all about an artist called Anni Albers who created bright, colourful rugs by weaving them on a loom. When we were at school, we had a go at paper weaving. This link gives you instructions on how to weave using wool. You can also weave with other materials that you can find around your house and garden, for example fabric strips, ribbon, long grass, leaves, sweet wrappers, long feathers etc. As long as your material is long enough to reach from one side of your loom to the other, you can weave with it. Here are some pictures of weavings made with natural materials. Some materials will work better than others, the fun part is finding out what works for you.
