Week Five: 22.3.21

Welcome to Week 5!

We had another fabulous week last week, exploring the book 'Tadpole's Promise.' The children really enjoyed the story but were a tad shocked by the unexpected ending! We are really enjoying watching our class tadpoles and caterpillars grow and develop and cannot wait to see what happens next in their life cycles. As part of our topic we have now thought about how plants grow and animals grow, so this week we are moving on to how people grow, develop and change as they grow up. To help us explore growth, development and our hopes and ambition, we will be using the Book of the Week "Once There Were Giants" by Martin Waddell. He also wrote 'Farmer Duck' and 'Owl Babies,' which we love so we cannot wait to explore this text which is all about a human from birth to adulthood.

Once There Were Giants

A reminder that PE is on a Thursday afternoon and Forest School is a Tuesday afternoon and children need to bring appropriate clothes. PE is outside this term so children must have trousers and a jacket. For Forest School, children need weather appropriate clothes. It is now warmer so please reassure your child that they do not have to wear their full kit with hat, gloves and scarf as some worry that they have to wear everything and become too hot.

Below you will find information on the learning we will be engaging with this week in class. If you are self-isolating or unable to attend school, we ask that you utilise these resources to support you to deliver learning at home. If you are self-isolating, a member of staff will contact you to support you with this as we will no longer be creating weekly videos once school reopens. Below you will also find the Home Learning for children to complete at home this week.
