Happy St. Andrew's Day wee lads and lasses!

On 30th November, the people of Scotland will be celebrating St. Andrew's Day, where they remember the life of St. Andrew (one of Jesus' apostles) and celebrate Scottish culture. This week we will therefore be continuing our topic of 'Let's Celebrate' by finding out all about Scottish culture and by learning more about what Christians believe about Jesus and his twelve disciples. Expect Scottish music, dancing, flags, stories and even a few classroom miracles!

A VERY BIG WELL DONE TO RECEPTION!

This week we have been completing Phonics assessments to monitor the children's phonetic development this term and to see how they are getting on with their sounds and their reading. The results have been absolutely staggering and we are a very proud team of teachers. The children have all made such amazing progress and have lots to be proud of. We have a really incredible class of readers this year and the staff are genuinely so impressed by their phonics skills, but also more importantly by their positive attitudes to reading and learning, which will take them so far. Thank you for all your support at home with your child's phonics and reading too - it is a team effort and the hard work is all paying off!

We want your views!

You should have received an electronic questionnaire last week about our use of Tapestry at school and how you feel able to engage with it as a parent. Please do complete this form as we really do value your views and opinions. If you have any questions about this, please ask Miss Bagnall as soon as possible.

Please find below the week's Class Learning and Home Learning. Keep posting on Tapestry to let us know how you are getting on with these tasks and with any other learning you are doing at home.

Yours,

Miss Bagnall, Mrs Roath, Miss Davies, Mrs Painter, Mrs Leach and Mrs Bromley smiley
