Wk beg 31.08.20/ 07.09.20

Over the coming fortnight we look forward to welcoming children into Nursery, some children will not have attended since March and for others this will be there first time into our Nursery setting following the online transition work and virtual tour of our school in June and July. We will be focusing on developing secure relationships with all of the children and providing them with a range of experiences to get to know each other and the staff that they work with.

Children will be introduced to our Nursery routines. A special focus this year will be on personal hygiene and showing the children how to wash their hands and how to deal with coughs, sneezes and runny noses to avoid the spread of germs. We will be working with the children as a whole class, small groups and individually as we introduce them to the learning routines and daily timetable. Time will be spent introducing the children to our indoor and outdoor learning areas and showing them the range of resources and how they can be used correctly to support the children in their learning and play. We will also be teaching the children how to tidy away correctly and return the resources so that they are ready to use again.

Alongside some focused activities led by the staff there will be plenty of opportunities for the children to choose, play and explore in their new setting to ensure all children leave with happy memories and big smiles looking forward to their next nursery session.

Our Forest school sessions will begin week beginning 7th September and reading books will also be issued this week. Books will be changed on the children's first attended session of the week. All books returned will then be quarantined for 72 hours before they are re-issued to other children.
