Our Nursery

Our Nursery takes pupils from the age of 3 years.  The purpose built nursery classroom was built as part of the new school buildings in 2013/14.  Outside there is a large outdoor play area, partially covered, to enable outdoor play all year round.

The Nursery is led by Miss Allardice, our Foundation Stage Team Leader. Our Foundation Stage teaching team is highly committed to creating a learning environment where children are able to excel; one that is stimulating, exciting and

inclusive. Everyday they rigorously plan and teach high quality learning                                                                experiences for all the children. They continually reflect on the way they teach,                                                    making improvements through the use of research and learning from others.

We follow the key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage with a balance of child and adult led opportunities that are designed to encourage your child to learn new and build on existing knowledge and skills in a fun and purposeful way.

Your child will experience a range of activities including Forest School, Phonics, Construction and many more.

Being part of school allows the Nursery pupils an opportunity to utilise the facilities, such as the library and the large playground.  This also means that the children become familiar with the environment of a primary school aiding transition to Reception.

We offer 30 hours free childcare to all eligible 3 and 4 year olds during term time (38 weeks).   If you haven’t already done so, to find out more about the initiative and the funding available, we would recommend visiting the Childcare Choices website  https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

Nursery offers both am and pm sessions that can be accessed by ALL children (15 and 30 hour funded).   This will enable parents to book sessions that best suit their needs.  For example you may prefer to do 2 full days and a half day instead of 5 mornings (15 hours).

In addition to funded options,  additional sessions such as breakfast and after school club can be booked.  Please call the school office on 01562 850397 and we will be happy to talk you through the options available to you.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information that you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
