Science - Food Chains
Create a food chain poster:
Objective: Understand how animals and plants are connected in a food chain.
Choose an animal (e.g. fox, frog, owl).
Draw a simple food chain that includes:
A plant (producer)
A herbivore
A carnivore or omnivore
Label each part of the chain.
Write one sentence for each part explaining what it eats.
Example: "The rabbit eats the grass. The fox eats the rabbit."
Animal diet sorting activity:
Objective: Learn the differences between omnivores, carnivores and herbivores.
Cut out or draw pictures of 6 animals (or use printed images): lion, cow, human, rabbit, bear, eagle.
Sort them into 3 groups:
Herbivores (plant-eaters)
Carnivores (meat-eaters)
Omnivores (eat both)
Glue or stick the pictures into a table or draw them under the correct headings.
Write one sentence for each group explaining what type of food those animals eat.
