Homework:

Mathletics - we are starting 'Statistics' in maths so please check out Mathletics for the assigned work. Also, where possible revisit 'Time' - 5 minutes past/to the hour.

 

Science - Food Chains

Create a food chain poster: 

Objective: Understand how animals and plants are connected in a food chain.

  • Choose an animal (e.g. fox, frog, owl).

  • Draw a simple food chain that includes:

    • A plant (producer)

    • A herbivore

    • A carnivore or omnivore

  • Label each part of the chain.

  • Write one sentence for each part explaining what it eats.

  • Example: "The rabbit eats the grass. The fox eats the rabbit."

 

Animal diet sorting activity:

Objective: Learn the differences between omnivores, carnivores and herbivores.

  • Cut out or draw pictures of 6 animals (or use printed images): lion, cow, human, rabbit, bear, eagle.

  • Sort them into 3 groups:

    • Herbivores (plant-eaters)

    • Carnivores (meat-eaters)

    • Omnivores (eat both)

  • Glue or stick the pictures into a table or draw them under the correct headings.

  • Write one sentence for each group explaining what type of food those animals eat.
