Cultural Capital

Cultural capital in primary schools is about valuing the different culture, experiences, beliefs, interests, and language of each child in the classroom, understanding how all these different things link together, and providing a rich, varied curriculum that builds on existing experiences.

It is the accumulation of knowledge, behaviours, and skills that a child can draw upon and which demonstrates their cultural awareness, knowledge and competence.

At Cookley Sebright Primary School, our Cultural capital opportunities are woven throughout the whole curriculum.  To see how we do this, click on the document below and it will give details of both whole school and year group specific opportunities.
