EYFS Induction sessions

Nursery Induction

Once you have accepted your child's place with us, you will be invited to attend an induction meeting with your child's class teacher. This will allow us to share information, discuss what will happen when your child starts Nursery and to answer any questions you may have. The next planned sessions for children starting in September 2026 will be held on:

Tuesday 7th July and Wednesday 8th July: Stay and play session with child, please meet outside the school office. A day and time slot will be provided, to enable a smooth transition and to limit numbers at any particular session. 

Home visits are available with the EYFS team. Please phone the school office, if you wish to book a time slot.

Reception Induction

 Parents are invited to a meeting in the Reception Class, to discuss their child's transition, expectations for the new academic year and the Early Years Curriculum. This will be an opportunity to meet the staff and ask any questions you may have. This meeting will be held at 5:30pm on Wednesday 24th June.

Reception transition to new classes will take place across two days, Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th July. Home visits and visits to feeder Nurseries will also be offered, to support children in their transition to Cookley Sebright Primary School, these will be conducted on 29th June, 1st July and 6th July.

Current Nursery children will attend two full days of transition into Reception class, whilst children new to Cookley Sebright Primary School will be offered sessions to meet their individual needs.
