Homework

For your first task, please log onto Mathletics using your log on code in your reading record and complete the assigned activities.

Next, spend a few extra minutes reading. This can be your school reading book, the reading for pleasure book, a book from home or a book on Oxford Reading Buddy.

Then, for this week's reading task, please complete a book recommendation. You could do this by recording a video or designing a poster. Don't forget to include the title of the book that you are recommending, the author of the book, who you think it would be suitable for (e.g. young children, people who like football, anyone who enjoys books written by ___) and what you like about the book.

We will be completing our DT project on Monday. (Parents, if you have any buttons or pieces of fabric that are A4 size or bigger that you no longer need, all donations would be gratefully received. Thank you!)

In Art, next half term, we will be looking at self portraits.

For your final task this week, explore self portraits further.

You might decide to create your own self-portrait. This could be by sketching, painting, using photography or even as a collage.

OR

You could research artists and their self portraits.

We are looking forward to seeing what you produce.

Have a lovely weekend.

What Famous Painters Looked Like in Their Self-Portraits and in Real Life

Before photography was invented, painters used their talent and skills to immortalize themselves in self-portraits and let people know what they looked like. Many famous painters of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were photographed, and thanks to their rare pictures, we can compare their real-life looks with their self-portraits.
