Homework:
This term we are learning about living things and their habitats in Science. Can you spend some time this week exploring different habitats.
Find a Habitat: Go for a short walk in your garden, local park or neighbourhood. Look closely at where animals and plants live. It could be under a bush, near a tree, by a pond, or even a crack in the pavement! Draw or write about - What plants or animals live there? Is it sunny, shady, wet or dry? Pick one plant or animal you saw and think about why it might like living in that habitat.
Additional task: Ask your child to think of ways to make the habitat even better for the plants or animals living there. For example, adding a log pile, planting flowers or leaving out water.
- This activity encourages observation skills and helps them understand the relationship between living things and their environment.
